Maria Paula Duque

LATAM Sustainability Lead
Microsoft

Maria Paula Duque is sustainability lead for Microsoft Latam. Previously, she was co-director in Colombia of FTI Consulting and senior vice president of strategic relations and chief customer experience at Avianca Holdings. Duque was responsible for building and developing meaningful relationships with global stakeholders such as government officials, media, NGOs, customers, associations, etc., as well as designing the experience and customer service for Avianca.

Duque has a law degree from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and holds an MBA from Inalde Business School, as well as a communications management MSc from Strathclyde University in England and MSc in Public Opinion. She worked at Microsoft Colombia for more than 12 years as public sector director and business segment director. She has wide experience in regulations for telecommunications, as she worked in companies such as Telecom, ETB and EPM and served as communications vice minister in Colombia. Duque is a member of boards of directors including Seguros Bolivar, Credibanco, Deprisa and OneLink. She is also a member of women’s associations including Women in Connection and Mujeres TIC (Tecnologia, Informacion y Comunicaciones).
