Stacey Young Rivers, Ph.D.

Stacey Young Rivers, Ph.D., is the senior director of people growth and enterprise skills strategy for Warner Bros. Discovery. She leads the global curriculum for all employees and strategic initiatives to support internal career mobility. In prior roles, Rivers was responsible for competency framework models, employee skills assessments, tech skills development, internship programs and other talent pipeline strategies. She regularly shares her career insights with more than 17,000 subscribers on LinkedIn through her newsletter, Level Up on Learning. 

Throughout her career journey, Rivers has achieved several awards for her impact and contribution. In 2019, she was selected as the Association for Talent Development "One to Watch" for her leadership in learning and development. In 2020, Rivers was awarded a fellowship with Mercer University’s STEM Education Innovation Lab where she served on a team with faculty and graduate researchers. And in 2021, she was awarded the Women in Technology All-Star Award for her career accomplishments by the Career Communications Group. 

Rivers completed her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Mercer University in Atlanta. Her research focus is massive open online courses (MOOCs) and exploring opportunities using this model to close career skills gaps for students and DEI talent pipeline strategies.
