Valerie Egan

Director of Learning & Development and HR Business Partner
Girl Scouts of USA

Valerie Egan is director of learning and development and HR business partner for the Girl Scouts of USA. In this role, she is responsible for strategy, innovation, process improvement and all training activities.

During her first three years at the Girl Scouts, Valerie served as senior director of talent acquisition. In this role, she provided the overall strategic direction for the design, planning, delivery and ongoing assessment of a strategic and competitive, best-in-class talent acquisition function. She supported the organizational mission, strategies and goals to position GSUSA as a thriving leading employer of choice. She was also a hands-on leader and doer, where she planned, directed and participated in the execution of innovative sourcing, selection and onboarding of top talent from around the nation. She provided vision, strategic leadership and practical experience to the talent acquisition infrastructure while serving as a thought partner to HR and other functional business leaders.

Before joining GSUSA, Valerie was head of resourcing, North America for Linde. She managed the staffing function and provided oversight to an outsourced vendor in an RPO environment. She has also worked for organizations including Aon Consulting, AT&T and Merrill Lynch managing the talent acquisition function.

She holds a BS from St. Peter's University and an MBA from Pace University. 

She is the recipient of Crain’s New York Notable Women in Talent Resources award in 2020.
